Day 2: The letter U

Today at preschool everyone agreed the weather is party cloudy with a lot of wind! Since it was so windy I didn't get to do a leaf hunt, but we improvised and had fun anyway.

We first read Under My Hood I Have A Hat, then watched a short piece of The Letter Factory about what the letter U sounds like. Next we read We're Going On A Leaf Hunt but didn't get to go on one.

Our first activity was practising writing the letter u on our own. Most of the kids just wanted to color, but there were some good u's made also. Then we made umbrellas! Everyone wanted 'ridges' on theirs, which took a little time to fold, but they all looked great when they were done!

After making umbrellas it was snack time. The apple slices also looked like u's.

And without a leaf hunt there was some time left, so we started watching Letter Factory to finish the day.
