Letter T Day 2: Turtles/Rhymes/Pink

Our Letter T days have been broken up by getting ready for a fun field trip!

Today we talked about letter t more and read Tractor Mac. Mac didn't win the tractor pull contest at the county fair, but he did make everyone very happy by pulling the broken-down carousel so everyone could have rides. I asked the kids if they knew that there are stories, called nursery rhymes, that help us learn things. They weren't sure about the words nursery rhyme, but did seem to know some. We talked about Humpty Dumpty, I'm a Little Teapot, Jack and Jill, & 5 Little Monkeys.

We had grahams and pretzel sticks again to make T's with.

Next we talked about the color pink and learned that it is made by mixing white with a little red. Everyone got a Q-tip to try mixing some red into white paint to make pink. They then colored a paper plate with their pink color, and we used the plate to make turtles!

Thanks goes to Michelle for the great pictures!
