The letter U, Seasons and Squares
Fall is in the air, leaves are falling and we're already 6 weeks into preschool! Everyone felt excited and busy so paying attention was a little tough but we had fun learning. First was the Pledge of Allegiance then the weather (sunny and just a little windy).
To start we read about Spookley the Square Pumpkin. All the round pumpkins rolled, laughed, and made fun of poor Spookley until a storm came. The round pumpkins rolled out of the fence until Spookley tipped over and blocked the hole, saving all the pumpkins! Next we read Big Bird's Guessing Game about Shapes, then everyone had a turn picking an item out of a bag and saying if it was a square or not. Last we read Alphabet Rescue, then it was off to the activity!
We decorated umbrellas using a tortilla, pretzels, mini M&M's, and nutella. The kids seemed to enjoy this part. Who doesn't like playing with food before eating it? :) My camera isn't the greatest so Jenni took pictures too.
After eating our yummy umbrellas the kids made U's out of playdough by first rolling it into a snake, and then a U. RJ and Everett made some great ones.
