L is for Ladybug (2)

Thursday was all about rainbows and octagons! First we reviewed the letter L, it's shape and sound. We used chalkboards to practice writing letter L. The boys loved reading "What Makes a Rainbow?"

We learned about the octagon shape. Stop signs, the octopod, and octopuses are all shaped like an octagon!

We tried a couple experiments with rainbows. First I used a CD and a flashlight to refract light to the wall. It was pretty cool but only for a moment or two. Then I tried to make rainbows with cream, food colors, soap, and Popsicle sticks. The experiment was a little too long for the boys. We ended up with six bowls of brown milk, due to excess stirring. Max did the best job at not stirring his milk. Our snack was a rainbow of fruit!

The best part was playing with rainbow spaghetti. The kids had a blast eating noodles and playing with the noodles. Jared got his hands full of noodles and chucked them. A couple noodles landed across the kitchen! Isaac was making me crack up...he shoved handfuls of noodles into his mouth. With his beanie he looked quite the character.
