Today students practiced tracing the letter A again and we talked about "Momma A" and "Baby A." We read Chicka-Chicka Boom Boom, sang songs, ate applesauce and apple licorice. We also completed a craft by painting our hands and each child got to practice using a glue stick individually. The hand print eventually made an alien , so we concluded as a group that "A if for Alien." For our large motor skills activity, we did a lot more with apples. (Who doesn't love a good apple?) Students tossed apples in buckets from different locations and we "bobbed for apples" in a less messy way. Students used a spoon to get 5 apples out of the bucket. We intended to focus on the color red this week; however, most "apple" themed anything these days comes in green. So although I tried my best to teach the color red, students probably saw more of the color green this week.
