The Letter A : Day One

Today we introduced the letter A. The students practiced the letter A and worked on fine motor skills by carefully coloring dots that made up the letter A. We sang songs and our craft project today was also our snack. We made a few different things out of apples, peanut butter, chocolate chips, nuts, and m&ms. Pirate faces, silly faces, a boat with people (m&ms) in it- you name it, these kids created it (and of course they ate it all up too). For our large motor skills activity, the students acted out as different animals that started with the letter A. I am bummed I didn't get any pictures of this activity, but take my word for it when I tell you we had some FABULOUS albatross (albatrosses?) and anteaters.
